Plan around your working day. Make a short list of the applications, meetings and devices you rely on. A workspace for video calls and a workspace for large creative files can need different attention.
Consider a wired connection for the desk when practical. Check the route from the router, existing network outlets, and any permissions required for new cable. Wi-Fi still matters for the rest of the space, but the desk deserves its own plan.
Treat printing as part of the setup. Record the printer model, how it connects, and which computers need access. Recurring problems can involve the network, configuration or the printer itself, so avoid assuming a replacement will fix everything.
Know who controls business accounts. If your employer manages the computer or network access, get the appropriate authorisation before changes. Independent service cannot override your organisation's security policies.
Protect continuity. Before a repair or migration, confirm where files are backed up and which accounts are needed. Never include passwords, recovery codes or confidential work files in a project request.
